Since February 2025, Promediation is implementing a project in the cross-border regions between Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mali. Funded by the Canadian ministry of foreign affairs – Global Affairs Canada, this project aims to reduce the spread of insecurity and violent extremism. The project intends to strengthen the dialogue and concerted action capabilities of targeted populations, and increase their ability to mobilize and form networks to manage tensions and conflicts within their communities. The project also plans to strengthen the capacities of local organizations working with women, youth, and marginalized groups, through training, support, technical and financial assistance (grants), and for the implementation of local and cross-border initiatives focused on peacebuilding and stabilization.

The project’s scope corresponds to the SKBo area (Sikasso, Korhogo, and Bobo Dioulasso), a coherent geographical area characterized by human, cultural, economic, and historical exchanges. The regional spread of insecurity and an increase in land pressure currently challenge the social cohesion and resilience of these communities.
