Support for humanitarian negotiations in Sudan

In March 2025, Promediation and the FDFA launched a programme to contribute to improve humanitarian access in Sudan by fostering relations, joint understanding and coordination between the Sudanese belligerents and the international humanitarian community and enhancing the ability of the said Sudanese actors to comply with their humanitarian duties.

To achieve this objective, Promediation focuses on capacity-building in humanitarian affairs for the warring parties through the delivery of trainings and strategic workshops. They target the relevant leadership as well as their humanitarian officers active in the field in contact with humanitarian organisations. 

Promediation also supports informal dialogue between the warring parties and humanitarian actors to help resolve the existing challenges and misunderstandings and strengthen the confidence between them.
