This programme aims to contribute to the stabilisation of two peripheral regions of Sudan, Darfur and Eastern Sudan, by supporting peace efforts initiated by local actors.


In Darfur, Promediation’s action also aims to encourage political and military leaders to reach a shared diagnosis and position on the conflict, oriented towards neutrality and non-involvement. Promediation also offers support for local initiatives and various local actors playing a central role in conflict prevention and management, through strategic workshops combined with training in mediation and negotiation techniques.

In the East, Promediation focuses on conducting a detailed mapping of local affiliations and potential hotspots, in order to anticipate and prevent them. Indeed, the considerable impact of the war on the Sudanese economy, the significant increase in arms smuggling, and the massive influx of internally displaced persons (IDPs) within the region constitute significant destabilizing factors. This mapping will be conducted via multiple consultations, making it possible to precisely assess the situation in the country’s three Eastern states. Promediation’s action also aims to bring together notable figures from the East to foster the emergence of a shared vision for maintaining stability in the East and against the potential spillover effects of the war on intercommunal dynamics., l'action de Promediation a également pour objectif d'encourager les dirigeants politiques et militaires à parvenir à un diagnostic et une position partagés sur le conflit, orientés vers la neutralité et la non-implication. Promediation propose par ailleurs de soutenir les initiatives locales et les divers acteurs locaux qui jouent un rôle central dans la prévention et la gestion des conflits, par le biais d'ateliers stratégiques couplés à une formation aux techniques de médiation et de négociation.

À l'Est, Promediation s'attache à dresser un état des lieux précis des appartenances locales et des points chauds potentiels, afin de pouvoir les anticiper et les prévenir. En effet, l'impact considérable de la guerre sur l'économie soudanaise, l'augmentation sensible de la contrebande d'armes et l'arrivée massive de personnes déplacées à l'intérieur de la région constituent des facteurs importants de déstabilisation. Cet état des lieux se fera par le biais de multiples consultations, permettant d'évaluer précisément la situation dans les trois États de l'Est du pays. L'action de Promediation a également pour objectif de rassembler des personnalités notables de l'Est afin de favoriser l'émergence d'une vision partagée pour le maintien de la stabilité à l'Est et contre les potentielles retombées de la guerre sur les dynamiques intercommunautaires.
